The United States is again reeling from gun violence. A shooting at a restaurant in the Brooklyn area of New York City on Sunday morning claimed the lives of three people and injured eight others. The New York City Police Department reports that the shooting occurred at ‘Taste of the City Lounge’ in Crown Heights at approximately 3:30 a.m.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed in a press briefing that all three fatalities were male. Two were aged 27 and 35, and the age of the third victim is still unknown.
No arrests have been made, and the suspects in the shooting remain unidentified, Tisch said. At least 36 shell casings were found at the scene, suggesting 36 shots were fired. Tisch stated, “What occurred this morning is horrific, and we will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the responsible parties.”
