Russia is prepared to negotiate a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine but is awaiting a clear indication from Kyiv to restart direct discussions. Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov highlighted the volatile nature of the conflict zone and Ukraine’s hesitance to commit to a third round of talks. Peskov stressed Russia’s preference for a peaceful resolution, while also pointing out that the special military operation will persist until such a solution is reached. Earlier talks occurred in Istanbul. The US has recommenced arms shipments to Ukraine. Furthermore, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio convened during the ASEAN forum in Malaysia, where they discussed the ongoing situation and international military assistance. Rubio urged European nations to increase their military support for Ukraine, specifically mentioning the need for more Patriot air defense systems.
