NASA has appointed Amit Kshatriya, a robotics engineer with Indian roots, as its new Associate Administrator. This appointment marks a significant achievement for Kshatriya, who has dedicated over two decades to the agency. Prior to this role, he headed the ‘Moon to Mars Program,’ shaping the strategy for human space exploration. Kshatriya’s contributions extended to the Artemis campaign, where he was instrumental in planning and executing missions to the Moon. He is tasked with advancing NASA’s ambitious plans for lunar exploration. Kshatriya’s background includes degrees from the California Institute of Technology and the University of Texas at Austin. His NASA career started in 2003, focusing on the robotic construction of the International Space Station. He is also one of a select group to have served as a Mission Control Flight Director and has received prestigious awards for his service.
