Following recent youth-led protests against corruption and social media bans, Nepal is facing a major security crisis. The protests, which involved attacks on police stations and posts across the country, led to mass prison breaks. Over 15,000 prisoners escaped from more than 24 jails. The police have managed to recapture some, particularly near the Indian border. However, according to official figures, thousands of criminals are still at large, prompting a nationwide manhunt.
