During his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voiced his opposition to the creation of a Palestinian state in close proximity to Jerusalem in the wake of the October 7 events. He drew a comparison, stating that it would be equivalent to granting Al-Qaeda a state near New York City after the 9/11 attacks. Netanyahu unequivocally labeled the idea as “insane” and confirmed that it would not be considered.
