The conflict in Sudan has led to the reported abduction of Adarsh Behera, a 36-year-old Indian man from Odisha. Behera was allegedly taken by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Al Fashir, a city recently captured by the paramilitary group after a prolonged siege. Behera had been living and working in Sudan for the past three years at the Sukarati Plastic Factory, leaving behind his wife and two young children in India. The situation in Al Fashir, a key location in the Darfur region, has become increasingly volatile following its takeover by the RSF. Reports indicate Behera might have been transported to Nyala, a town in South Darfur also controlled by the RSF. The abduction underscores the severe risks faced by civilians, including foreign nationals, caught in the crossfire of Sudan’s devastating civil war. The incident has sent shockwaves across India, with particular concern for Behera’s safety and his family.
