Both food delivery platforms Zomato and Swiggy started implementing platform fees to increase their company’s overall revenue and profit. In the month of January, Swiggy had set a platform fee of Rs 10 for some of its selected users, which was many times more than the fee of Rs 3 currently charged from other users. However, no user was charged a platform charge of Rs 10. They were only shown the higher platform fee, at the time of final payment they were being charged only Rs 5.
