In a move towards closer ties, Pakistan and Russia have decided to jointly develop a rail and road network. The objective is to improve connectivity between Pakistan, Central Asia, and Russia. This agreement was reached during the SCO ministerial conference in China. Key figures, including Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Russia’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Andrey Sergeyevich Nikitin, committed to accelerating infrastructure projects. These projects are designed to integrate trade and economic activities across the region, with the goal of positioning Pakistan as a central connectivity hub. This builds on previous collaborative efforts, such as the joint naval exercise ‘Arabian Monsoon-VI.’ Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed concerns about the impact of the Taliban’s actions on regional stability, emphasizing the need to address potential threats to peace and counter-terrorism efforts.
