Separatist outfits in Balochistan have boasted of crippling attacks on Pakistan’s military and law enforcement, revealing tactical prowess and inflicting real harm in their push for separation. The spate of incidents paints a picture of a province slipping from Islamabad’s control.
The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) initiated the fury by storming a Pakistani army camp in Gwadar’s Shadi Kaur Dam vicinity on Monday. With light machine guns blazing, rockets flying, and automatic fire pouring in from all sides, spokesperson Major Gwaharam Baloch tallied two dead soldiers, wounded comrades, and a camp in shambles.
BLF doubled down in Kohlu’s Lond Nausham, encircling the Frontier Corps base for a barrage that sent rockets crashing inward, devastating gear and gear. The ‘intense, coordinated’ hit left lasting scars, they claimed.
Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) chose mobility as their weapon, blasting a police patrol with an IED near Nasirabad’s Mir Hasan outpost. As the vehicle approached, the remote detonation claimed lives and shredded metal, Dostain Baloch announced.
Rounding out the assaults, United Baloch Army (UBA) razed a key surveillance tower on March 1 in Kacchi’s Mach, close to an army stronghold between Ab-e-Gam and Geshani. Four cameras meant to thwart guerrilla actions now sit disabled, per Mazar Baloch.
These operations, tied to the broader ‘Operation Herof’ campaign launched by BLA on January 31, represent an intensifying rebellion. As groups rally around the independence banner, Pakistan confronts a multifaceted security crisis in Balochistan.
