Pakistan Slams ‘Expansionist’ Indian Minister Over Sindh Comments

India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s assertion that Sindh might one day ‘return to India’ has drawn a sharp rebuke from Islamabad. Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs decried the remarks as ‘dangerously revisionist’ and indicative of an ‘expansionist Hindutva mindset.’ The statement stressed that such comments defy international law and the principle of sovereign borders. Singh, during an address to the Sindhi diaspora, spoke about the enduring cultural and civilizational links to Sindh, suggesting that territorial configurations are not fixed. He referenced the historical significance of the Indus River to the Sindhi people, including former Indian Home Minister LK Advani’s sentiments on the partition. Singh’s words, suggesting that ‘borders can change,’ have ignited a diplomatic firestorm.
