The case of Mahjabeen Baloch, a Baloch student who disappeared a month ago, has sparked international concern regarding human rights in Pakistan. The VBMP reports that Mahjabeen was taken from Civil Hospital Quetta by state agents on May 29. Her brother, Younus, was also detained a week earlier. Despite the passage of time, neither sibling has been brought before a court, according to the VBMP. Nasrullah Baloch, Chairman of VBMP, has called for urgent action to ensure their safe return, emphasizing the violation of their rights. Sabiha Baloch of the BYC questioned the lack of official response and the implications of enforced disappearances. International bodies like Amnesty International have also condemned the incident, calling for a prompt investigation and her immediate release, highlighting the larger issue of enforced disappearances in Pakistan.
