The situation in Europe is escalating due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Poland has heightened its alert levels by deploying aircraft and closing an airport in Lublin because of drone threats. The Polish move came after its airspace was violated by Russian drones, which were subsequently shot down with assistance from NATO allies. Romania also took action, deploying fighter jets when a drone entered its airspace during a Russian attack targeting Ukrainian infrastructure near its border. The Polish Operational Command announced that ground air defense and reconnaissance systems were on high alert, emphasizing the measures were taken for the protection of Polish airspace and citizens. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk acknowledged the situation, mentioning ‘Preventive Air Operations’ in the Polish airspace due to the threat of Russian drones in the adjacent regions of Ukraine. The Lublin airport was shut down due to ‘military aviation activities.’
