An official said that a 26-year-old dancer has made this allegation against Remo D’Souza, his wife Liezel and five others. The victim dancer lodged her complaint at Mira Road Police Station in Mumbai on 16 October. Police have registered a case against Remo D’Souza and six other people under sections 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating) and other sections of the Indian Justice Code.

According to the FIR, the complainant and his associates were allegedly defrauded between 2018 and July 2024. The dance troupe had performed in a television show and won. It is alleged that the accused allegedly pretended that the group belonged to them and embezzled the prize money of Rs 11.96 crore. The other accused in the case are Omprakash Shankar Chauhan, Rohit Jadhav, owner of Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a policeman and Ramesh Gupta, the official said.
