A recent attack targeting a Jewish place of worship in Manchester, UK, has heightened anxieties within the British Jewish community. The incident, which unfolded during Yom Kippur, involved a car ramming into a crowd before the assailant opened fire. This event has intensified existing concerns about the safety of Jewish people in Britain, who have been feeling increasingly vulnerable. A survey carried out by the Institute for Jewish Policy Research (JPR) in June-July 2025 shows a substantial increase in British Jews reporting feelings of unsafety, particularly after the Hamas attacks on Israel in October 2023.
