International diplomats are voicing unequivocal support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership amid pivotal EU-India trade negotiations. In an IANS exclusive, Malta High Commissioner Ruben Gauci depicted Modi as a paragon of restraint and foresight.
Arriving in India over five years back, Gauci was immediately drawn to Modi’s style. ‘He instills calm environments, a patient figure confident in his nation’s trajectory,’ Gauci enthused.
Acknowledging the scale, he added, ‘It’s commendable for any leader of a billion-plus people. India’s demands are immense, but Modi navigates them adeptly. The FTA would amplify his legacy of successes.’
On the landmark agreement, Gauci unpacked its scope: ‘Dubbed the ultimate deal, it intertwines EU and Indian economies across productions and investments. Jobs from EU funds are a boon for India’s demographic dividend.’
He pushed for equity: ‘It levels the field for trade in all areas. While 114 Indian companies flourish in Malta, reciprocal investments are pending. This deal will unlock those opportunities.’
Gauci’s tribute highlights Modi’s enduring influence, bolstering India’s position as negotiations near potential breakthroughs.
