Amidst efforts by former US President Donald Trump to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, sirens were activated in Israel due to Iranian missile launches, as reported by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). This occurred despite Trump’s announcement of a cessation of hostilities. Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated that military operations against Israel continued until 4 AM. The IDF confirmed the missile strikes on X. Concurrently, reports emerged of Israeli attacks on Iranian territories, which occurred soon after Trump declared an end to the conflict. Trump stated on his ‘Truth Social’ account that a ‘complete and total’ ceasefire was agreed upon and would begin in approximately six hours. However, Iran’s Foreign Minister contested the existence of such an agreement, adding that the final decision to stop military operations would be made later. The events transpired after Trump’s declaration of a ceasefire.
