Travel Advisory Issued by Indian Embassy in Kathmandu for Nepal as Conditions Improve

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has issued a travel advisory for Indian citizens visiting Nepal, urging them to exercise caution as the situation in the country begins to ease. The advisory comes after a period of unrest, with the Embassy noting a considerable improvement in the past week. Road transport and flights are now operating normally. Indian citizens traveling to Nepal should take necessary precautions and heed any further advisories from the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu or local Nepalese authorities. Efforts are underway to address the aftermath of recent protests, including the removal of damaged vehicles from the streets and the repainting of government buildings. Cranes were deployed in Singhadurbar, the administrative center, to remove the burnt vehicles, which have been temporarily relocated to the federal parliament grounds. Authorities are working to document the vehicles, recording their registration numbers for insurance purposes and damage assessment. A survey revealed that around 700 vehicles were destroyed in the violence, including over 250 four-wheelers and over 450 two-wheelers. Significant damage occurred at the Prime Minister’s Office, with 47 four-wheelers and 74 two-wheelers affected. The Prime Minister’s Office, the Home Ministry, and the Federal Parliament Secretariat experienced the most extensive vehicle damage during the protests.
