In a recent radio interview, Donald Trump defended his imposition of a 50% tariff on goods from India. He said India, which he considers the world’s “most tariffed nation,” has offered him a ‘no tariff’ agreement. Trump highlighted his understanding of tariffs, suggesting he possesses a better grasp than anyone else. He also pointed out what he views as the imbalanced trade dynamics between the U.S. and India, where the U.S. does very little business with India, while India sells massive amounts of goods to the U.S. He added that India should have cut their tariffs to nothing years ago.
