Trump highlighted the importance of strict US control over TikTok, emphasizing that it’s a remarkable creation and that he himself has benefited from it, achieving unprecedented numbers. He said that the youth of America and their parents like the app, which is why the US was prepared to make a deal. The agreement, which Trump described as very good for both sides, will see American investors in control. He expressed his gratitude to President Xi Jinping. Following the conversation, ByteDance released a statement thanking both presidents for their focus on TikTok. The initial aim was to ban TikTok from January 2025, but this has not happened. The US is looking to reach a deal that will provide greater control to American investors.
