On Tuesday, while en route to London, the aircraft carrying US President Donald Trump, Air Force One, experienced a near miss with a Spirit Airlines passenger plane. The incident occurred within the highly congested airspace over New York. Controllers quickly directed the pilots of Spirit Flight 1300 to veer away from Air Force One above Long Island. The Spirit flight, an Airbus A321, was en route from Fort Lauderdale to Boston. The air traffic controller identified the potential hazard due to similar altitudes and converging flight paths, prompting the immediate directive to the Spirit pilots.
