Donald Trump’s recent claims of ending six wars have sparked both interest and debate. He stated that he halted a conflict between India and Pakistan in May, a claim that India has largely dismissed. Indian officials have maintained that Pakistan sought peace. On May 10th, shortly after Trump’s claim, India’s DGMO and Pakistan’s DGMO agreed to halt firing and military action. The Indian government has since rejected any third-party mediation in the ceasefire. Another instance cited is the ceasefire between Iran and Israel on June 23rd after heightened tensions. Trump also mentioned ending a conflict between Congo and Rwanda, as well as a potential conflict between Kosovo and Serbia. Conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand, and also the tensions between Egypt and Ethiopia were also addressed.
