US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, specifically for his involvement in the Iran-Israel ceasefire. The nomination was put forward by Republican Congressman Buddy Carter. Carter’s nomination commended Trump for his actions in averting Iran’s access to what was described as a ‘most lethal weapon.’ In his nomination letter, Carter stated that Trump’s efforts were crucial in reaching a rapid agreement. Earlier on the same day, Trump posted on Truth Social, stating that China can once again purchase oil from Iran, while also expressing hope that China would increase oil purchases from the US.
