Amid a barrage of Iranian projectiles, the UAE Defense Ministry reported Tuesday that adversaries have launched 186 missiles and 812 drones towards the country. Air defense systems, operating at peak efficiency, intercepted nearly all, protecting lives and infrastructure effectively.
Spokesperson Brigadier General Abdul Nasser Mohammed Al-Humaidi outlined the defensive successes: 172 missiles neutralized, 13 lost at sea, one impacting UAE territory. For drones, 755 of 812 were downed, 57 contained within borders; eight cruise missiles similarly dispatched.
Since conflict’s start, losses are contained—three killed, 68 lightly wounded, minor residential impacts. ‘Vigilance defines our response; security is paramount,’ Al-Humaidi declared.
The Riyadh US embassy drone strike intensified outrage. Saudi Foreign Ministry’s X post condemned it as a ‘cowardly breach’ of international law, citing Geneva 1949 and Vienna 1961 conventions. Despite warnings to Iran against using Saudi space for attacks, incursions continue, stoking fears of wider war.
The UAE’s resilience shines, but the cycle of retaliation demands urgent international mediation to avert disaster.
