In a major escalation, Russia conducted its most extensive air raid on Ukraine, involving about 500 drones and 40 missiles, including hypersonic Kinzhals. The assault, lasting over 12 hours, led to four deaths and over 40 injuries. President Zelenskyy characterized the attacks as intentional terror against ordinary cities.
The capital city of Kyiv and its surroundings bore the brunt of the attacks, while other cities like Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Khmelnytskyi also suffered. The Cardiology Institute in Kyiv was directly targeted, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, among them a 12-year-old child.
