As part of preparations for International Day of Yoga 2025, the Indian High Commission in Nicosia and the UNFICYP joined forces to host a yoga event at the UNFICYP Headquarters. The event showcased yoga as a practice that bridges peace and diplomacy, with key attendees including the High Commissioner and Acting Force Commander. The event highlighted the integration of yoga in promoting mental resilience and physical fitness among personnel in conflict zones. Lauren McAlister and Lt. Petra Vitazova of UNFICYP praised the initiative for enhancing mental clarity and team cohesion. A live demonstration and commemorative publication were also part of the event, which reflected the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Cyprus.
