A significant trade deal between the United States and India is on the horizon, according to President Donald Trump. Speaking at an official ceremony for the new US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, Trump stated that negotiations have advanced considerably, bringing both countries closer to a mutually beneficial agreement. He also confirmed plans to lower existing US tariffs on Indian goods. Trump highlighted India’s reduced imports of Russian oil as a contributing factor to this impending tariff adjustment. This development follows months of ongoing trade talks aimed at solidifying a comprehensive pact. The envisioned agreement seeks to more than double bilateral trade figures in the coming years. The President also lauded India’s rich history and the strong relationship between the two countries, anticipating that Ambassador Gor’s appointment will further strengthen this bond and unlock new economic opportunities.
