The planned diplomatic encounter between President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin has been called off. Sources within the US administration reveal that Russia presented a set of demands that were deemed “unacceptable” by Washington. These conditions reportedly included requests for sanctions relief and recognition of Moscow’s territorial assertions, making the summit’s feasibility impossible. Earlier in the week, an official hinted at the uncertainty surrounding the meeting, stating there were “no immediate plans” for the summit.
