Zelenskyy Praises Trump’s Commitment to Ukraine, Discusses Air Defense and Drone Cooperation

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine lauded a ‘fruitful’ call with former US President Donald Trump, during which they discussed vital support for Ukraine. Zelensky specifically acknowledged America’s readiness to provide assistance and announced an agreement with a prominent US company to increase joint efforts regarding drones. The conversation also centered on air defense, with Zelensky acknowledging the significance of Patriot systems in protecting against ballistic threats. Amidst these discussions, the Ukrainian military claimed responsibility for an attack on a Russian airbase near Voronezh, housing aircraft and glide bombs. Meanwhile, Moscow’s air defense systems were actively engaged in intercepting incoming Ukrainian drones, leading to temporary flight disruptions. The Russian Defense Ministry reported a large number of Ukrainian drones being intercepted.
